Job summary

Royal Mail Group is recruiting for Seasonal Mail Sorters at South Midlands Mail Centre in Northampton and Northampton Parcel Hub. No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required; just bring your enthusiasm and we'll provide the rest.

You'll help unload letters and parcels, move mail around the sorting centres, and sort items quickly and accurately across early, late, and night patterns (night shifts not available to applicants under 18).

Qualifications

• No previous warehouse experience required.
• Able to work in a busy environment and on your feet.
• Able to handle items up to 11kg and push/pull trolleys as needed.
• Night shifts not available to applicants under 18.

Pay rate: hourly rate is dependent on the shift pattern you're offered

Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns, including the following core shift patterns, available at

South Midlands Mail Centre, Swan Valley Way, Swan Valley, NORTHAMPTON, NN4 9DR

Northampton Parcel Hub, Unit 5, Panattoni Park, NORTHAMPTON, NN7 4DE

• Earlies: 06:00 - 14:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)
• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h) - South Midlands Mail Centre only

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What you'll need to join the team

You don't need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We're looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
