Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Exeter is seeking helpers for the seasonal Christmas period. As a Seasonal Mail Sorter you’ll unload letters and parcels, move mail around sorting centres, and help sort quickly and accurately. No prior experience required—bring enthusiasm and be ready for active, hands-on work.

We offer several shift patterns at Exeter Mail Centre (Earlies, Lates, Nights, Weekends) with pay rates of £13.69, £15.14 and £16.44 per hour. Nights are not available to applicants under 18.

Qualifications

• No previous warehouse, mail or parcel sorting experience required.
• Positive attitude and team spirit.
• Able to work on your feet and in a busy environment.
• Flexible and able to switch tasks as needed.

Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Exeter Mail Centre, Osprey Road, Sowton, EXETER, EX2 7XX, including the following core shift patterns:

• Earlies: 06:00 - 14:00 (£13.69 p/h)
• Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)
• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What you'll need to join the team

You don't need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We're looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands‑on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
