Job summary

Royal Mail Group is seeking a Seasonal Mail Sorter in Norwich to help process letters and parcels during the festive period. Earn hourly pay with shifts at Norwich Mail Centre and Norwich Outhouse, starting now until Christmas.

No previous warehouse experience required; enthusiasm and reliability are key. Core duties include unloading items from delivery lorries, moving mail within warehouses, and accurate sorting.

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse or mail sorting experience is required.

• Able to work in a busy, active environment.
• Physical tasks include standing, moving items, and light lifting up to 11kg.
• Flexible and willing to switch tasks as needed.

Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns, including the following core shift patterns, available at

Norwich Mail Centre, 13-17 Thorpe Road, NORWICH, NR1 1AA

Norwich Outhouse, 23 Vulcan Rd S, NORWICH, NR6 6AG

• Earlies: 06:00 - 14:00 (£13.69 p/h) - Norwich Mail Centre only
• Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)
• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h) - Norwich Mail Centre only

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What you'll need to join the team

You don't need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We're looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands‑on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
