Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a passionate Bank Chef to join our team. This casual, part-time role offers flexible working and the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards with no split shifts or long weeks.

You will assist the Head Chef in crafting nutritious, flavoursome menus for residents, leading with warmth and a focus on wellbeing and high quality meals across our homes.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a kitchen environment.
• Experience using fresh seasonal produce.
• Solid understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Prepare dishes using fresh produce to high quality standards.
• Create a warm, efficient and welcoming kitchen environment.
• Work within budget constraints for menus and stock.
• Complete regular audits of food preparation and cleanliness.
• Manage stock control and ordering as needed.
• Assist in leading and motivating the kitchen team.
