Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a passionate, qualified chef for a casual, part-time Bank Chef role offering work-life balance and the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards in a care setting.

You will assist the Head Chef with fresh seasonal menus, help lead a small team, work within budget, conduct regular audits and ensure HACCP and nutrition guidelines are followed, while creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with residents' wellbeing in mind.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment in the home.
• Solid understanding of HACCP principles.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun kitchen environment.
• Work within budgetary constraints.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control and assist in leading the team.
