Job summary

The Emergency Department Receptionist role within the Emergency Care Directorate’s Administration Team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd requires a Welsh-speaking candidate. The post emphasises flexibility, confidentiality, and a positive approach to duties, with full training provided if WPAS/IFIT/Emis Health experience is not yet in place.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an efficient front-line reception service for the Same Day Emergency Care Unit within the Emergency Quadrant.
  • Deliver high standard customer care to patients, relatives and carers as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
  • Assist with general admin tasks and diary/appointment coordination as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an Emergency Department Receptionist to join the Emergency Care Directorate’s Administration Team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

As a part of this very busy team, the successful applicant is expected to be very flexible, have a pleasant personality and a positive approach to their work.

Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills.

This individual will require excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with sensitive matters and highly confidential patient information.

Previous receptionist/administrative experience and knowledge of the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS) and Symphony is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Overtime is available.

Main duties of the job
  • The SDEC receptionist is responsible for providing an efficient front-line service to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit within the Emergency Quadrant. You are expected to deliver a high standard of customer care to a wide range of client groups including, patients, relatives and their carers whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

By the nature of the duties the post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with staff, patients, carers and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.
