Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling is seeking a Recycling Operative in Bury to join our small team. This entry-level, full-time role involves loading, sorting and handling scrap metal with a 360 material handler and FLT, working outdoors.

You will weigh metals on our weighbridge, guide daily workloads with the Site Manager, and ensure safety while keeping the yard clean. Pre-employment checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience driving plant machinery (360 grab / FLT) on site.
• Experience in the recycling or scrap metal industry.
• Enjoys outdoor work in a busy environment.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Weighbridge experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade customers and the public selling scrap metal.
• Grade metals and enter weights on the Weighbridge tablet.
• Operate a 360 material handler with grab attachment when required.
• Load baled or loose ferrous scrap into artic bulker trailers safely.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Liaise with the Site Manager to plan daily workloads.
• Keep the yard neat and tidy and provide cover for other roles.
• FLT driving and manual heavy lifting as part of duties.
