Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking an experienced Land Manager to secure land rights for national-scale projects including 400kV overhead lines, cables and substations. The role requires close collaboration with landowners, internal stakeholders and regulators to secure project access and compensation terms.

Based in Scotland with 50% of time in the Inverness office, you will lead negotiations, manage land rights strategy, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver complex land acquisitions for

Qualifications

• Experience in land management and land rights within energy networks or utilities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to manage projects and develop land assembly strategies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
• Liaise with landowners over proposed route and site selection.
• Assess impact of infrastructure on land and businesses.
• Negotiate wayleaves or servitudes and ensure best practice in land management.
• Support valuation and compensation assessment to ensure fair agreements.
