Job summary

SSEN Transmission, based in Scotland, is seeking an Assistant Consents and Environment Manager (Operations) to support the Networks team in maintaining assets across their life cycle.

You will work 50% of your time in the office in Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness and enjoy flexible first options, a competitive salary and a car/car allowance with bonus potential. The role offers significant career development in a purpose-led energy transition.

Qualifications

• Degree in an ecological discipline (or equivalent) with postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Experience with ecological permits and licensing and mitigation.
• Proven project management skills including consenting oversight, compliance, and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Support operational teams in maintaining the network and integrating ecological requirements into asset management.
• Collaborate with the Consents and Environment team to understand planning conditions early for smooth handover.
• Implement monitoring regimes for Biodiversity Net Gain and protected species; advise operations as needed.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external authorities.
