Job summary

ScotCen, the Scottish Centre for Social Research, invites applications for Field Interviewers. You will visit households, conduct interviews, and listen with empathy to everyday experiences. Training is provided, and you’ll travel across Scotland, reporting insights that shape services and policy.

Requires a UK driving licence, DBS check, and strong English communication. Flexible, part-time hours (minimum 3 days a week) with paid travel time and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and active listening.
• Willingness to travel across Scotland and DBS check readiness.

Responsibilities

• Visit people in your local area to conduct in-home interviews.
• Capture stories accurately and record responses.
• Plan routes and travel within your assigned patch; mileage allowance provided.
