Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Science Tutor to support children and young people across West Sussex with tailored 1:1 science tuition. You’ll work on behalf of Local Authorities to boost understanding and progress in Science, with a flexible schedule and September start.

Applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience in education, strong science knowledge, and the ability to deliver engaging, personalised sessions. DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of one or more Science disciplines.
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex.

Inspire Learners Through Personalised Science Support

We're looking for a Science Tutor to support children and young people across West Sussex through tailored 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help learners develop their understanding of Science while building confidence, engagement, and academic progress. Many of the students we support require alternative educational provision and benefit from a personalised approach that makes learning accessible, engaging, and rewarding.

We're particularly interested in tutors who can support learners in:

• Crawley
• Worthing
• Horsham
• Chichester
• Bognor Regis
• Littlehampton

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
