Job summary

Prospero Teaching in West Sussex is seeking a Science Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 science tuition to children and young people across Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton. Start date September; hours are flexible and pay is £25-£30 per hour. Experience with SEND and a patient, engaging approach are desirable.

You will work on behalf of Local Authorities, supporting learners to improve understanding, confidence and academic progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of one or more Science disciplines.
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 science tutoring sessions.
• Assess learner progress and adapt sessions to individual needs.
• Support learners with SEND or additional needs where appropriate.
• Collaborate with Local Authorities and schools as required.

Inspire Learners Through Personalised Science Support

We're looking for a Science Tutor to support children and young people across West Sussex through tailored 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help learners develop their understanding of Science while building confidence, engagement, and academic progress. Many of the students we support require alternative educational provision and benefit from a personalised approach that makes learning accessible, engaging, and rewarding.

We're particularly interested in tutors who can support learners in:

• Crawley
• Worthing
• Horsham
• Chichester
• Bognor Regis
• Littlehampton

Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of one or more Science disciplines
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex
