Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking Science Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across Boscombe and surrounding areas. You will work alongside Local Authorities to help learners develop their understanding of Science while boosting confidence and engagement with learning.

The role focuses on KS3/GCSE Science with flexible hours and a September start, offering rate of £25-£30 per hour for 1:1 tuition and travel within the local area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of Science subjects.
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised sessions.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; travel within local area.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for Science Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across Boscombe and the surrounding areas.

Working alongside Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them develop their understanding of Science while building confidence, motivation, and engagement with learning.
