Job summary

Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre is seeking a Technician to join our Science Department, supporting physics and chemistry specialists. The role involves assisting in the lab, preparing for lessons and experiments, and helping to ensure all apparatus and chemicals are stored safely.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a school science lab (full training provided) and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team of Technicians within a busy school

Qualifications

  • The ideal applicant will have previous experience of working in a school science lab.
  • Full training will be provided.
  • Ability to work alone as well as in a team of Technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the lab and prepare for lessons and experiments.
  • Ensure apparatus and chemicals are put away correctly.

The Details

Start Date:ASAP

Salary:GLF Associate 3.1 £25,001 - 3.9 £26,782 FTE (actual £20,374 - £21,826)

Hours of work: Term time only, 35 hours per week -8am - 3:30pm

Closing Date: 17th September 2026 at 9.30am
