Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre in Reading is seeking a Technician for our Science Department, with priority given to Physics and/or Chemistry specialists.
You will assist in the lab, prepare lessons and experiments, ensure all apparatus and chemicals are stored safely, and uphold health and safety standards in a busy school environment.

Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre are seeking a Technician to join our well-resourced Science Department, applications from Physics and/or Chemistry specialists would be particularly welcome.
The role will include assisting in the lab, preparing for lessons and experiments, ensuring all apparatus and chemicals are put away correctly and adhering to health and safety standards.
The ideal applicant will have previous experience of working in a school science lab, (but full training will be provided). be happy to work alone as well as part of a team of experienced Technicians.

Start Date: ASAP
Salary: GLF Associate 3.1 £25,001 - 3.9 £26,782 FTE (actual £20,374 - £21,826)
Hours of work: Term time only, 35 hours per week - 8am - 3:30pm
Closing Date: 17th September 2026 at 9.30am
