Job description

Progress Teachers are working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Dudley to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering inspiring science lessons and making a positive impact on students' learning.

The Role

You will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging, practical and theory-based lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking and strong academic progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Deliver engaging practical experiments while maintaining high standards of health and safety
  • Assess, track and report on student progress
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
  • Maintain a positive, well‑managed classroom environment
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection policies
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in a Science specialism (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field)
  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom practice
  • Ability to motivate, engage and challenge learners
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities (desirable)
  • Two satisfactory references
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
