Job summary

Flourish Education are currently recruiting for a Science Teacher to join a supportive and high-achieving secondary school near Northfield. This is a full-time, long-term post starting after October half-term, teaching across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4.

The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess lessons, with marking and full class teacher responsibilities, working in a collaborative department that supports students to reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience teaching Science in a Secondary School.
• Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science.
• Good understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills.

Job description

Flourish Education are currently recruiting for a Science Teacher to join a supportive and high-achieving secondary school near Northfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Science Teacher to join the school on a long-term basis from October half-term, teaching across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

The successful Science Teacher will join a collaborative department where staff work together to provide engaging lessons and support students in reaching their full potential.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting after October half-term. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons across all three Science disciplines, alongside marking, assessment and full class teacher responsibilities. Applications are welcomed from both experienced Science Teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with the relevant experience and subject knowledge.

As a Science Teacher, you will:

• Teach engaging and challenging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Teach across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Mark and assess students' work, providing constructive feedback to support progress
• Monitor student progress and provide targeted support where required
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and classroom engagement
• Work collaboratively with the Science department and wider school team
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Required Skills and Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Applications welcomed from ECTs and experienced Secondary Science Teachers
• Experience teaching Science within a Secondary School environment
• Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science
• A strong understanding of the National Curriculum
• Excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging, high-quality lessons
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• Experience as a Science Teacher, Secondary Teacher, Classroom Teacher or Science Specialist is desirable
