Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a motivated and well-organised Science Technician to join the Science Department of a successful and oversubscribed school in Lincolnshire.

This role supports teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, preparing equipment and materials, setting up and clearing away experiments, maintaining stock and helping maintain safe, compliant laboratories.

Qualifications

• Has a background in science (academic or practical).
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness.
• Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons
• Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines
• Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment
• Supporting practical lessons where required
• Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations
• Assisting with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals
