Job summary

Vibrant School in Lincolnshire is seeking a motivated Science Technician to support the Science Department. You will prepare equipment, materials and chemicals for lessons, set up and clear away experiments, and help maintain stock and safety across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The ideal candidate has a science background, strong health & safety awareness, and can work independently or as part of a busy team. Training will be provided where needed; CVs welcomed.

Qualifications

• Has a background in science (academic or practical).
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness.
• Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons
• Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines
• Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment
• Supporting practical lessons where required
• Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations
• Assisting with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals
