Job summary

Larwood School is seeking a reliable Site Assistant to support the safe, secure and efficient operation of the school site. You will assist with caretaking, maintenance and health and safety duties to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Working with the Site Manager and Headteacher, you will help maintain buildings and grounds to a high standard, ready for daily use and after-school lettings.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school or similar environment.
• Proven ability in site maintenance and DIY tasks.
• Able to work independently and use initiative.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Physically able to move and carry furniture and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Caretaking & General Maintenance: carry out general maintenance and DIY tasks, including minor repairs, painting and furniture replacement.
• Assist in identifying and prioritising maintenance works across the school site.
• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks in liaison with the Site Manager.
• Clear blockages, clean drains, gullies and grease traps, and respond to spillages.
• Ensure school buildings and grounds are clean, safe and litter-free.
• Support the wider Trust site team as required.
