Job summary

Tickford Park Primary School is seeking a part-time Site Assistant to help maintain the premises and grounds and support school activities. The role includes routine maintenance, basic repairs, and ensuring a safe, clean environment across indoor and outdoor spaces.

The post requires hands-on risk awareness and reliability. The successful candidate will assist with opening/closing, health and safety checks, and liaise with contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and grounds maintenance.
• IT literate with ability to use basic software and systems.
• Good communication with staff and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day maintenance, security and upkeep of the school premises and grounds.
• Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs and general DIY tasks.
• Ensure buildings and external spaces are clean, safe and well maintained.
• Assist with setting up furniture and equipment for activities and lettings.
• Carry out health and safety checks and report hazards or maintenance issues.
• Support opening/closing of the site and secure buildings and doors/windows.
• Assist with fire safety procedures and emergency evacuations where required.
• Monitor outdoor areas and liaise with contractors.
