Job summary

Wayland Academy in Thetford is seeking a proactive Site Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the school site. You will oversee maintenance, security and facilities, ensuring a safe, well‑kept environment for students and staff.

The role includes leading a small team, managing budgets, coordinating contractors, and supporting improvement projects while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in premises maintenance and security.
• Ability to lead a small team and manage budgets.
• Experience in planning and delivering maintenance programmes.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and regulations.
• Experience with contractors and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the Academy site including maintenance, security and general condition.
• Manage site security, routine maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Lead a small team, manage budgets, and coordinate contractors and improvement projects.
• Ensure heating, lighting and other utilities function correctly and comply with legislation.
