Job summary

Thetford-based school invites applications for a Site Officer to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. You will work with the school team to ensure buildings and facilities operate effectively, with duties ranging from unlocking the site to routine maintenance and stock handling.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:25pm (1 hour lunch), totaling 37 hours per week; previous site-based experience and a practical, proactive approach are desirable for

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance or site-based experience.
• Understanding of health and safety practices is desirable.
• Good IT and organisational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Unlocking the site.
• Check heating and water systems on arrival.
• Grtiting pathways in adverse weather.
• Sweep leaves and maintain surroundings.
• Carry out general maintenance (bulbs, doors, etc).
• Put bins out and manage waste.
• Assist with deliveries and stockroom stocking.
• Log site checks into the computer system.
