Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a welcoming primary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire to recruit an experienced School Caretaker. The role covers opening and securing the site each day, carrying out checks, general maintenance, health and safety duties, supervising contractors and preparing rooms for events, with an enhanced DBS required.

This is a full-time, permanent position with ASAP start. You will work with the leadership team to keep the site safe, secure and fully operational, and

• Previous school-based premises experience.
• Good general maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Experience dealing with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site each day.
• Carrying out daily checks of classrooms, corridors, playgrounds and external areas.
• Undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Monitoring the condition of the school's buildings, fixtures and facilities.
• Preparing rooms and areas for assemblies, meetings and school events.
• Moving furniture and equipment when required.
• Assisting with deliveries and supervising contractors on site.
• Carrying out routine health and safety checks.
• Supporting fire safety procedures and maintaining relevant records.
• Reporting larger repairs and maintenance requirements.
