Job summary

River Learning Trust seeks a practical, hands-on maintenance assistant to keep Gillotts School in Henley-on-Thames clean, secure and well-maintained. You will support the facilities team, open/lock premises, and handle routine maintenance tasks to ensure a safe learning environment for staff and students.

The role offers negotiable hours and a supportive team led by the Facilities Manager. Candidates should be reliable, adaptable, and committed to health and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience or aptitude.
• Reliable and flexible to work shifts including morning opening or evening locking.
• Collaborative mindset to work with Facilities Manager.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety standards, site security, and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and secure the school site daily.
• Unlocking and locking grounds as required.
• Perform routine and ad hoc maintenance tasks to keep the environment safe and well-ordered.
