Job summary

Aspens Services is a market-leading contract caterer specialising in school food. We are looking for a Catering Assistant to support our kitchen with basic food preparation and deliver excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You’ll work Monday to Friday during school term time, 10 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, at £12.71 per hour. Great work-life balance with no late nights or weekends; training and safeguarding duties included.

Qualifications

• Team player and thrive in a busy team.
• Previous catering or fast-paced service experience.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is great, but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (training provided).
• Front‑Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: Keeping a safe, clean kitchen and meeting Health and Safety compliance.
