Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our school kitchen and help deliver smooth lunchtimes.

You’ll handle front-line service, assist with basic food preparation, and ensure a clean, safe kitchen aligned with health and safety standards. This part-time, term-time role offers 10 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, and a competitive rate of £12.71 per hour with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Team player in a busy school catering environment.
• Catering or fast-paced service experience.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is preferred, training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Customer interaction: working on tills during service (training provided).
• Front-line service: delivering friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential support: assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining standards: ensuring a safe, clean kitchen and health & safety compliance.
