Job summary

Concept Resources is recruiting a School Catering Assistant to join a busy primary school in Westergate. The post is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10:00am–2:00pm, paid £13.50 per hour, and initially temporary with a possible Temp-to-Perm opportunity.

The role involves helping prepare and serve meals, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting the kitchen during busy lunch periods in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS – ideally already held/current
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate – essential
• Previous catering or kitchen experience preferred
• Reliable and able to commit to Monday-to-Friday working
• Comfortable working within a school environment
• Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of school meals
• Preparing food and refreshments
• Setting up the dining and service areas
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy lunch periods
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Cleaning work surfaces, dining areas and kitchen areas
• Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
• Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
