Job summary

Concept Resources is recruiting a School Catering Assistant to work in a busy primary school in Horsham. This daytime role supports the school kitchen team with the preparation and service of meals to pupils and staff. Hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 2:00pm, totaling 20 hours per week.

Pay is £13.50 per hour, with a possible temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate. Essential requirements include Food Safety Level 2 certification and an enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 2 certificate is essential.
• Enhanced DBS required.
• Previous catering, kitchen or school-meals experience preferred.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a school environment.
• Able to work Monday to Friday 10:00–14:00.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of school meals.
• Serve meals to pupils and staff.
• Set up dining and service areas.
• Support kitchen team during lunch service.
• Wash up and clean kitchen equipment.
• Clean work surfaces, kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow food hygiene and allergen procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
