As a Kitchen Assistant you will help prepare meals, serve pupils and staff, and maintain high cleanliness and food safety standards. Previous catering experience helps, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• DBS check is required and must be current.
• Food safety qualifications are required or willingness to obtain.
• Food allergen certificate is required or willingness to obtain.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking in a school environment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of meals and ingredients
• Helping with serving food to pupils and staff
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Following food safety and allergen procedures
• Supporting the wider catering team during busy service periods
• Ensuring food preparation areas are kept clean, organised and safe
• Providing a friendly and professional service within the school
