Berkeley Scott is seeking reliable Kitchen Assistants to work in a busy school catering environment in Peterborough. An immediate start and weekly pay are offered, with ongoing flexible school-based shifts and opportunities to gain valuable education catering experience.

The role involves helping prepare and serve meals, keeping the kitchen clean, adhering to food safety practices, and supporting the catering team during busy periods. Previous kitchen experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate required or willingness to obtain.
• Food Allergen Certificate required or willingness to obtain.
• Enhanced DBS is required for this role.
• 2 references required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food.
• Supporting the catering team during busy service periods.
• Preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
• Washing up and keeping kitchen equipment and work areas clean.
• Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Supporting with stock rotation and storage.
• Providing friendly and professional service to pupils and staff.
• Working effectively as part of a wider catering team.
