Job summary

Berkeley Scott are recruiting for a reliable Kitchen Assistant to work in a school catering setting in Surrey. This role offers an immediate start and regular ongoing opportunities with weekly pay.

You will assist with food preparation and service, support the kitchen team, and help maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in a busy school environment. DBS checks and training are provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS is required.
• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate is required or willingness to obtain.
• Food Allergen Certificate is required or willingness to obtain.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safe handling.
• Excellent reliability and timekeeping.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation and serving
• Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties
• Preparing ingredients and food items as required
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Assisting with school meal service
• Following food safety, health and safety procedures
• Ensuring food is stored, prepared and handled safely
• Working effectively as part of the wider catering team
