Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in Plymouth to join a busy, fresh-food kitchen serving a school community. The role is term-time plus, 43 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, with the chance to work with seasonal menus and a supportive team.

You’ll be part of a collaborative kitchen, help with prep and pot wash when needed, and contribute to high standards of hygiene and service. Great progression and employee benefits are on offer.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in food and excellent customer service.
• All-round team player with attention to detail.
• Passion for great food and innovation in the kitchen.
• Organised and able to follow brand standards.
• Good verbal English communication skills.
• Good written English and reading skills.
• Experience in customer or food prep environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• To work well in a team, providing food and a great service.
• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards.
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
• Great team player.
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep.
