Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for a term-time Plymouth position, Mon-Fri, 25 hours per week at 13.06 per hour. The role runs during term time with 43 weeks per year and involves a 0930-1430 shift, no late nights or weekends.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, use fresh seasonal ingredients, and support chefs with prep and service, ensuring high standards and allergen control.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team to provide food and great service.

• Maintain Food Hygiene and Health & Safety procedures, including allergen controls.
• Assist chefs with food preparation as needed.

Kitchen Assistant | Mon-Fri | Term Time Plymouth Contract: Part Time, Permanent
Salary: 13.06
Hours: 25 per week

A co-educational independent school for children of nursery age up to 11 years in Mannamead, Plymouth. Catering for 250 on site. We offer a core feeding of lunch, morning and afternoon snack and after school club with just some hospitality. This is a term-time plus contract, working 43 weeks a year, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at one of our fabulous locations in Plymouth.

You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

Key responsibilities:

• To work well in a team, providing food and a great service
• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep

You will have the following skills:

Knowledge / competencies:

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
