Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council Catering Services is seeking an Assistant Cook at Llangewydd Junior School to support the Cook with universal primary free school meals and to coordinate daily kitchen activities. The role includes covering the Cook when absent and rotations at other schools in the borough.

We require an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate, Welsh language ability, and an enhanced DBS with the Children's Barred List. Hours are 10am–2pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Qualifications

• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Welsh language ability is a requirement to greet customers.
• Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List is required.
• Working hours are 10:00–14:00, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Cover the Cook in their absence and at other schools within the borough.
• Help manage day-to-day activities to ensure a quality service for customers.
