Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council Catering Services is hiring an assistant cook at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Bro Ogwr. You will support the cook with meal preparation for universal primary free school meals and help manage day-to-day kitchen activities to ensure a quality service.

Hours are 10am–2pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. An Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is required (training provided). The ability to greet customers in Welsh is a requirement. An enhanced DBS check is also required.

Qualifications

• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate required (training provided).
• Welsh language ability required to greet customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook with preparation of universal primary free school meals.
• Cover for the cook in their absence and at other schools within the County Borough.
• Support day-to-day kitchen activities to ensure a quality service for pupils and staff.
