Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking a part-time General Kitchen Assistant to support school meal services across 56 schools. The role covers preparation, presentation and service of meals during term time, with duties including table setup and occasional touch screen terminal use.

Hours are between 10:00 and 14:30, Monday to Friday during term time only. A Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate is required (training available). A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Food hygiene certificate required, training provided if needed.
• Experience assisting in preparing and serving meals is preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple schools across the county borough.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
• Ensure a safe, clean dining environment for pupils and staff.
• Lay out dining tables and chairs and operate touch screen terminals where required.
