Job summary

Westbourne Academy in Ipswich is seeking a dedicated IT Technician to join the Central IT Team as part of Inspiration Trust’s digital modernisation programme. You will be hands-on across infrastructure, cloud, cyber security and classroom technology to shape how staff and students interact with new tools.

You’ll provide friendly first-line support, manage devices and accounts, train staff, and work with contractors to ensure high standards and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and basic networking.
• Experience supporting end-user devices and classroom technology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A genuine appetite to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Be the friendly, go-to first-line support for staff and students.
• Keep laptops, desktops, iPads, interactive panels, visualisers and classroom audio running smoothly.
• Support Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, and manage accounts and permissions.
• Look after printing, VoIP telephony and peripherals.
• Make sure safeguarding filtering and monitoring are working as they should.
• Work alongside contractors during installations, checking quality and safeguarding standards.
• Help staff get the most from new technology through hands-on training.
• Keep clear documentation, asset records and helpdesk logs.
