Job summary

Westbourne Academy in Ipswich is seeking an on-site IT technician to support a major digital modernisation project across the network, devices, and classroom tools. You’ll work within Inspiration Trust's Central IT Team to ensure reliable teaching technology and secure systems.

You’ll be the frontline for staff and pupils, keep devices and software up to date, and help staff use new tools through hands-on training. Previous school/educational IT experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
• Experience supporting end-user devices in a school or similar environment.
• Proactive, customer‑focused attitude with problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the friendly, go-to first-line support for staff and students.
• Keep laptops, desktops, iPads, interactive panels, and classroom tech running smoothly.
• Support Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, manage accounts and permissions.
• Look after printing, VoIP and peripherals, and safeguarding filters.
• Collaborate with contractors during installations and training staff on new tech.
• Maintain documentation, asset records and helpdesk logs.
