Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an experienced IT Technician for a Reading-based academy. The role provides day-to-day IT support to staff and pupils, helping ensure IT systems remain reliable and accessible across teaching and administration.

You will diagnose hardware and software issues, set up devices, support classroom technology, manage Microsoft 365 and user accounts, and handle support tickets. An enhanced DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Previous IT support experience within a school, academy or college is essential.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software in an educational environment.
• Strong communication abilities and a patient approach when supporting users.
• An enhanced DBS will be required.

Responsibilities

• Providing first-line IT support to staff and pupils.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Setting up laptops, desktops and other school devices.
• Supporting interactive whiteboards and classroom technology.
• Troubleshooting printers and connectivity issues.
• Assisting staff with Microsoft 365 and user accounts.
• Managing IT support requests and keeping accurate records.
• Maintaining the school's IT equipment inventory.
• Installing and updating software.
• Supporting online examinations and assessment technology.
• Assisting with network and connectivity issues.
• Ensuring equipment is appropriately maintained and secured.
