Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a diligent IT Technician for a school in Ely. You will provide day-to-day technical assistance, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure staff and students can access digital resources.

The role covers hardware and software maintenance, user support, classroom technology and connectivity across the school, with safeguarding and data protection embedded. You will troubleshoot, document issues and collaborate with colleagues to minimise downtime and keep systems

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support or technical roles is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware and software.
• Familiarity with operating systems and basic networking.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support to staff and students.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, laptops and printers.
• Assist with user accounts and system access.
• Support interactive displays, projectors and classroom technology.
• Carry out routine equipment checks and software updates.
• Maintain records of faults, repairs and requests.
• Monitor IT equipment and asset records.
• Follow data protection, cybersecurity and safeguarding procedures.
• Escalate complex technical issues when necessary.
