Marchant Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a Cambridge-area secondary school for an ICT Network Technician. You will support classroom technology, maintain network connectivity, and assist with account and device configuration to keep learning devices available for pupils and staff.

Experience in school ICT is desirable; you'll help monitor networks, manage devices, maintain inventories, and escalate complex faults to senior IT staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous IT support or network support desirable.
• School ICT experience would be advantageous.
• Understanding networking fundamentals (wired/wireless).
• Familiarity with Windows devices and Microsoft 365.
• Experience configuring devices and managing support requests.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding cybersecurity, data protection and confidentiality.
• Right to work in the UK and safeguarding checks.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical support for school computers, laptops and tablets.
• Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity.
• Maintain network switches, wireless access points and infrastructure.
• Configure devices, user accounts and approved software.
• Monitor network performance and identify recurring issues.
• Keep records of IT equipment, faults and support requests.
• Assist with device deployment, upgrades and routine maintenance.
• Support printers and classroom displays on the network.
• Ensure systems are updated per school IT procedures.
• Escalate complex faults to senior staff or external providers.
• Support arrangements for examinations, staff training and events.
