Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an IT Technician to support a secondary school in Hackney. You will troubleshoot issues, configure devices, manage user access, and assist with AV setups to ensure smooth learning and digital operations.

You will work under the Network Manager in a modern school with a collaborative IT team and opportunities for CPD, certifications, and career development.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Information Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience supporting Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and school platforms (SIMS/Arbor).
• Strong hardware troubleshooting across desktops, laptops, printers, interactive displays, and networking.
• Proactive problem-solving with attention to detail and time management.
• Excellent communication and patience with end-users of varying technical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive 1st and 2nd-line IT support for hardware, software, network connectivity and peripherals.
• Configure, deploy and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, interactive displays and printing solutions.
• Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Perform routine diagnostics, software deployments and basic network cabling tasks.
• Log, track and resolve helpdesk tickets with clear communication and escalation when needed.
• Support AV setups for assemblies, productions and staff presentations.
