Job summary

St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy is seeking a practical, proactive and dependable facilities assistant to help ensure our buildings, grounds and resources are safe, secure and ready for each school day. Based predominantly at the academy, you will support maintenance, health and safety inspections and site security.

This hands-on role involves general maintenance, porterage, coordinating with contractors and monitoring heating and energy use.

Qualifications

• Experience of general maintenance, caretaking or premises management would be valuable.
• Practical, proactive and dependable with initiative.
• Ability to keep school environments safe, welcoming and well maintained.

Responsibilities

• Keeping our schools looking their best - Undertaking general maintenance, minor repairs and routine checks to ensure our buildings and grounds remain safe, welcoming and well presented.
• Creating safe and secure environments - Supporting site security, completing health and safety inspections, identifying potential risks and helping us maintain high standards of compliance.
• Supporting the smooth running of our schools - Providing practical caretaking and porterage support, working with contractors and assisting with the day-to-day management of our premises.
• Looking after our buildings and resources - Monitoring heating and building systems, supporting energy efficiency and helping us make sustainable choices.
• Being part of something bigger - Working collaboratively with school colleagues and the wider estates team, sharing your skills and responding flexibly to the needs of our schools.
