Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable School Caretaker for a busy school in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. You will support daily maintenance, site security and room preparation for activities, ensuring safe, clean and well-presented premises.

The ideal candidate will have caretaking or facilities experience, basic DIY skills, and a proactive, independent work approach while following school policies and safety procedures.

Qualificações

• Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities support experience desirable.
• Experience in school premises is advantageous.
• Practical knowledge of general building repairs and maintenance.
• Basic DIY, carpentry, decorating or plumbing skills beneficial.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Open and secure school premises as required.
• Carry out routine inspections of buildings, classrooms and grounds.
• Complete minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Identify faults, damage and hazards and report them.
• Check doors, windows, locks and access points.
• Maintain tidy corridors, entrances and communal areas.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and activities.
• Move furniture and equipment safely.
• Monitor outdoor areas, pathways and entrances.
• Assist with deliveries and movement of materials.
• Support contractors attending the premises.
• Ensure maintenance tools are stored safely.
• Follow health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Report urgent maintenance issues promptly.
• Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
