Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council has a temporary 40-hour per week role across various locations in the South Lanarkshire area. The post runs on term-time hours with a pattern of Monday–Thursday mornings to early afternoons and Friday shifts, plus three hours overtime for school lets.

Hourly rate ranges from £14.51 to £14.83. The role focuses on keeping grounds safe and well-maintained, supervising cleaners, and coordinating with facilities managers and contractors to ensure safety and service standards

Qualifications

• Health and safety awareness
• Ability to monitor and report faults
• Good communication with managers and contractors

Responsibilities

• Keep unit grounds safe, tidy and free of hazards.
• Monitor lessee and contractor activities and report issues to line manager.
• Log and report damage or faults to fabrics/fixtures.
• Liaise with external contractors ensuring health, safety and security procedures.
• Supervise cleaners and ensure work standards are met.
• Communicate with Facilities Manager and team to meet customer needs daily.
