Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a proactive Facilities Assistant / Caretaker to join a local school site in Knowsley. You will manage opening/closing, maintenance, porterage and security, acting as the main contact between the school and the contractor.

The role covers site access, safety, and daily support across multiple school sites in Knowsley. A full driving licence, DBS (enhanced) and practical DIY skills are essential; weekend and out-of-hours cover is required with rotating early/late shifts.

Responsibilities

• Site Access & Security: Lock/unlock buildings, patrols, sign-ins, supervise community use.
• Maintenance & Compliance: Planned maintenance, minor repairs, record monthly meter readings.
• Health & Safety: Issue permits, COSHH adherence, report issues.
• General Site Support: Porterage, maintain equipment, document site activity.
