Job summary

Kempston Academy in Bedford is seeking a passionate Facilities Assistant to support the Facilities Manager in the maintenance, care and upkeep of the school’s buildings, grounds and facilities, including basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs. The role covers opening and closing the site, implementing security procedures, and acting as a designated key holder.

This appointment requires an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references; full training and induction are provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist Facilities Manager with maintenance, care and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
• Carry out electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs as required.
• Open/close premises and follow site security procedures.
• Act as designated key holder for the school.
• DBS check and safeguarding compliance.
