Job summary

Kempston Academy in Bedford is seeking a Teaching Assistant on a permanent contract. The role involves providing general classroom support and assisting pupils, including those with specific needs. The post requires helping with displays and maintaining an orderly environment, with full training and induction provided.

An enhanced DBS check and references will be required. Salary is on the Level 2 points 2–5 scale.

Teaching Assistant

Location: Kempston Academy, Bedford

Contract: Permanent

Hours of Work: 35.75 hours per week, 39 weeks

Salary: Level 2 Point 2-5

Closing Date: Wednesday 30th September 2026 at 9am

We are looking to appoint a passionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to support pupils and staff through the provision of general assistance in the classroom and the school, or to support a child with specific needs (e.g. behavioural difficulties/ or English as an additional language).

The role will involve providing support for learning in the classroom as directed by the class teacher/line manager and help to maintain the order and cleanliness of the classroom environment e.g. putting up displays.
