Qualifications

• Experience in site management, caretaking or facilities management.
• Practical maintenance skills across trades.
• Ability to prioritise a varied workload with minimal supervision.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive problem solving and safety awareness.
• Willingness to participate in shift work and occasional evening events.

Responsibilities

• Support the Premises Manager in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment.
• Undertake routine site inspections and maintenance tasks across the school estate.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance including plumbing, joinery, decorating and general building maintenance.
• Maintain the security of school buildings and grounds, including opening and closing procedures.
• Monitor heating, lighting and water systems and report maintenance issues as required.
• Ensure walkways and entrances remain safe and accessible, especially in adverse weather.
• Undertake litter clearance, deliveries reception and general porterage duties.
• Set up rooms and learning spaces, and move furniture and equipment as required.
• Assist in preparing facilities for lettings and community use.
• Support grounds maintenance, playing surfaces, pathways and boundaries.
• Coordinate maintenance contractors and monitor standards of work.
• Source materials ensuring value for money and compliance with health and safety.
